Workshop in honor of 60th birthday of Celina Miraglia Herrera de Figueiredo
This workshop aims to celebrate the 60th birthday of Celina Miraglia Herrera de Figueiredo. The workshop brings together local and abroad researchers influenced by Celina. It is a tribute from those whose lives were impacted by Professor Celina Miraglia Herrera de Figueiredo in these years of her dedication to advancing research in the sciences and women rights.
Celina Miraglia Herrera de Figueiredo, born on July 18, 1960, is a professor, researcher and writer in the field of Computer Science. Among her titles and awards, she stood out for being the first woman at the Alberto Luiz Coimbra Institute for Graduate Studies and Engineering Research at the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (COPPE), the largest engineering teaching and research center in America Latina, to receive the Giulio Massarani Award for Academic Merit (2006) and to be approved in a public contest, open to the area of Systems and Computer Engineering, as a full professor at COPPE (2011).
Having more than 100 articles in international journals, over 29 years as a doctor, published mostly in co-authorship with her students, Celina has a strong role in the development of Computer Science area in Brazil and Latin America.
